Yazan Mesmar
"The Bedouin Lady" was created by Jordanian artist Yazan Mesmar who said she is "A superhero of our own." This piece was inspired by the 2019 Baladk Festival theme "Inclusion" and is in Jabal Amman.

Dalal Mitwally & Jofre Oliveras
"The Column" highlights the individual responsibility in societies across many civilisations. Dalal Mitwally (Jordan) and Jofre Oliveras (Spain) modeled the figure after Al-Balad's team member, Waleed, and used a Nabatean headstone as a symbol of cultural heritage in Baladk 2021 festival.

Lucie Legrand
In 2018, French artist Lucie Legrand painted this mural in Marka as part of theme "The World and People." The mural is inspired by the traditional art of embroidery that is prevalent in Jordan, Palestine, and Syria.

Suhaib Attar
As part of Baladk 2017 festival with the title "You and I," Jordanian artist Suhaib Attar painted this mural in Hashmi. The mural depicts a bedouin woman dressed in Thoube and walking on a bedouin patterned carpet.

Suhaib Attar
After a public story competition, Suhaib Attar painted the portrait of the late mentor and educational activist Nemat Saleh Bseiso Al Mufti. This mural was part of our 2019 "Inclusion" themed festival.

Yazan Halawani
Lebanese artist Yazan Halawani painted "The Plastic Mannequin and the Hybrid Folklore Dress" as part of the Baladk Festival in 2016. The painting is of a plastic mannequin from one of the souvenir shops in downtown Amman but dressed in a folkloric dress that combines Jordanian, Palestinian, and Circassian cultural symbols.

Yazan Musmar
Yazan Mesmar is an artist and visual designer based in Amman who painted the 'Arar' mural in 2022. It was painted in celebration of the Jordanian poet "Arar" Mustafa Wahbi Al-Tal. It is also located in the poet's hometown Irbid.

Caspar David
German artist Caspar David, also known as Krashkid, painted this mural as part of a series of murals by the German street art collective 'Guaposapo' for the Baladk festival in 2021.The design of this mural highlights the importance of public togetherness in cities. It sheds light on the impact of shared public spaces in fostering human connections amongst residents in the city

Zytoun
This mural by Zytoun was painted as part of Baladk's theme of 'Art is Environment and Environment is Art' in 2020 which aimed to raise awareness about environmental issues.

Yazan Bahar
This mural painted by Yazan Bahar is of an old man who symbolizes the city of Amman as an old city. This painting is part of Baladk festival's 2020 theme of 'Art is Environment and Environment is Art'.

Dalal Mitwally
In collaboration with the Tiraz Centre, Dalal Mitwally created this piece as part of Baladk 2021 festival. She commented that "This mural is an act of remembering, dedicated to all stories of Palestinian displacement. Halimeh's hands gesture a sense of patiently and stubbornly waiting to reach the chapter of liberation in her story, going back home…Halimeh was once the trend setter for other people, being the centre of a vivid social life in Beit Dajan village."

Dhad Family
This mural painted by Saudi collective, Dhad Family, in 2016 illustrates two cartoon style birds chatting in a middle eastern symbol of protection: Fatima's Hand.

Yessiow
This mural was painted by Indonesian artist Yessiow as part of the Baladk festival in 2022 under the theme of mental health. The painting depicts two women who share each other's burdens and responsibilities and support each other. This is inspired by the Indonesian concept of 'Gotong Royong' which is all about mutual cooperation and collective obligations of sharing burdens in society.

Alexander Isakov
Alexander is an independent street artist based in Berlin who has painted this mural as part of a series of murals by the German street art collective 'Guaposapo' for the Baladk festival in 2021. With an interest in architecture, the artist painted this mural which hints at a fountain in abstract style with colorful accents and ornamentation alongside architectural shapes.
